Toastmasters of Basel kicked to a good start in 2016 with a meeting on 5th of January.
The meeting started with three prepared speeches, two of which were from Project 2 from the Competent Comunicator manual and delivered by Manon on how to be a good friend during break-ups and by Vincent on how to harness the power of lichen for biofuel. The third was an Interpretive Reading entitled “When I was young” delivered by Cindy. Rafa peak our interest on the imaginative scenarios for the Table Topic on “Embarassing Moments” requiring even more creative solutions from the lucky volunteer speakers. The meeting concluded with the presentation of Caroline de Stexhe with the Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB) and Cindy Piccolo with the Advanced Leader Silver (ALS) awards.
